Cline Center for Advanced Social Research seeks Human Judgment Analysts for Civil Unrest Research Project

·  Human Judgment Analyst

·  Looking for highly motivated, independent-minded, decisive, and detail-oriented persons to identify and generate basic event records for a civil unrest event database case study. Tasks involve reading relevant news articles and snippets of text and then populate data using a survey system to extract the event type, event location, and event date. Applicants must be present on Campus during the months of January through August. Applicants who possess social sciences degrees, consider themselves decisive, and have a strong intrinsic interest in current events are preferred.  Successful applicants will proceed through a short training course. Successful completion of training is required for advancement to Analyst position.

Data Management Intern Job Description

EnterpriseWorks is looking for a Data Management Intern to help support the information management and data analysis needs of the incubator and Research Park.

Duties

• Inputting data using Salesforce
• Conducting research and providing business intelligence
• Helping with database administration and the information management objectives of the Research Park and EnterpriseWorks
• Supporting the Data and Reporting Analyst and Finance Manager and Finance Manager as needed

Minimum Qualifications:

• Currently enrolled as a graduate student
• Familiarity with databases and/or CRM software (professional or coursework)
• Facility with Microsoft Office, especially Excel
• Experience conducting research using licensed and open source databases
• Familiar with database search techniques (Boolean search, advanced search techniques, controlled vocabularies)
• Available to work through December 2018
• Ability to balance multiple projects at once
• Goal-oriented and deadline driven
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Can work effectively alone or as part of a team

Preferred Qualifications:

• Degree in business, statistics, computer science, or another business- or technology-related field
• Professional experience using Salesforce

Duties:

• Develop applications software implementing advanced imaging algorithms on GPU-accelerated systems using CUDA C/C++
• Evaluate, analyze, and optimize performance of applications software on GPU-accelerated systems

Requirements:
