Job Description

Position Description:

ADM Animal Nutrition Marketing MBA Internship
ADM is seeking an MBA intern to conduct market research and competitive analysis and identify growth opportunities for the company’s animal nutrition platform.   • Develop horizon supply-demand curves (5 year, 10 year) and identify growth opportunities in feed manufacturing, strategic additives, and premixes.

Qualifications

InnSight Technology, Inc is an innovative biotech startup that is dedicated to translational research initiatives that will advance diagnostics and evaluation of eye disease. Our primary focus is on the development and commercialization of the OcuCheck biosensor – a novel, hand-held, point-of-service device for detection of tear film biomarkers. This is the first device of its kind to provide an accurate, quantitative measurement that can assess the integrity of the corneal surface after surgery or trauma. The device is easy to use and provides immediate results. Current methods require subjective examination performed by physicians, while the OcuCheck makes it possible for non-specialists to quickly and objectively identify severe cases of eye injury.
 
We are seeking highly motivated Research Interns to join our R&D team. Interns will work with research engineers to develop and validate a commercial prototype of a disposable biosensor. An exciting opportunity for talented undergraduates with a strong background in engineering-related fields and an interest in biomedical science, prototyping, and entrepreneurship. 
 
Roles and Responsibilities
 
Available projects include:
  • Software and firmware development using Python (esp. numpy, matplotlib), Arduino-like microcontrollers, and GitHub (or similar such as MATLAB, R, C/C++, SVN, etc.)
  • Design and build solid and planar custom components using: 3D printing, inkjet printing of electronic and biomaterials, Fusion360, QCAD (or similar such as Solidworks, AutoCAD, etc)
  • Design and build custom electronic components using: KiCAD (or similar such as Cadence OrCAD, Altium, Eagle, etc), breadboard, through-hole, and surface-mount assembly, test and validation
  • Device testing using electronic test equipment and basic liquid handling
 
All projects also require:
  • Careful documentation of work performed
  • Attending team meetings when possible and providing feedback on progress of projects and suggestions for improvement
  • Information-gathering from technical literature and other sources
  • Adhering to all safety regulations and protocols in the laboratory and office

The AGCO Acceleration Center is looking for a highly talented developer intern to join our team at the Research Park for the 2019 Spring and Summer. This person will be instrumental in helping us create next generation augmented reality experiences in Unity and PTC Thingworx. We are looking for an individual who is highly self-motivated to explore and create within the augmented reality space to bring value to our business and customers.

 

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • A sound understanding of the difference between Virtual Reality and Augmented Reality

  • Experience in Unity and C#

  • Completed virtual reality course, CS 498

  • Experience/interest in exploring IoT and augmented reality capabilities

  • Passionate about creating learning tools with exceptional user experience

  • Experience with 3-D modeling and animation through programs like Solidworx, PTC Illustrate, Creo Parametric

 

Qualifications:

  • Must be registered as a full-time student

  • Must be able to commute to the work location on a daily basis

  • 10-15 hours/week during the academic year

  • 35-40 hours/week during the summer semester

  • General curiosity in augmented reality technology

  • Experience working with virtual/augmented/mixed reality software

  • Excellent communication skills, and presentation skills

  • Creative problem solver with ability to understand larger picture but also focus on details

Your Responsibilities
 
As a John Deere Part Time Student - Software Engineer you will primarily focus on software engineering in architecture design, object oriented and functional software design, various software configuration management, and programming /coding for various Deere applications.
You will need to be able to define and reduce to practice software engineering techniques to meet the needs of robotic systems and other Deere product platforms.
You will work in a fun, friendly, and fast paced environment consisting of team members with various backgrounds and engineering disciples to analyze and find conclusions around different technologies.
Projects are operated in the Agile environment and one will need to be able to handle multiple projects at any given time.
You will also be required to present your findings in onsite or offsite meetings and translate your findings/data into understandable documents.
 
What It Takes
  • Proficient in software architecture design of medium sized software systems. 
  • Proficient in object oriented and functional software design. 
  • Technical ability in software configuration management. 
  • Technical ability to fully implement developed algorithms in an end to end software solution. 
  • Experience in software validation (testing) and verification (analysis) activities. 
  • Highly proficient in developing software code in Java/Kotlin, Python and C/C++.
  • Ideally, you will have a degree or equivalent work experience in one the following: PhD or MS in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
  • Must be registered as a full-time student at University of Illinois - Champaign
  • Must be able to commute to the work location on a daily basis
  • Graduation date of May 2020 or later  
  • Cumulative GPA of 2.8 or above
  • 16 - 20 hours/week during the academic year
  • 35 - 40 hours/week during the summer semester
A Strong Candidate Will Also Have
 
Other areas of experience or interest that will help us place you on the right team include: 
  • Experience using Robotic Operations System (ROS). 
  • Technical ability to design and implement distributed software systems 
  • Technical ability to manage software configurations in GitHub 
  • Proficient experience in algorithm software development. 
  • Proficient experience utilizing various sensor hardware and software. 
  • Highly proficient in MatLab simulations.
