Analytics Professionals are the data driven, business professionals using quantitative methods such as business simulations, data mining and advanced statistical techniques to solve problems for internal business partners and external Caterpillar customers.
As an Advanced Analytics Part Time Intern, you will be immersed in our business and introduced to our analytics tools and techniques, enabling you to provide data-based insights that drive business decisions. In some cases, you will be involved in developing new analytics tools customized for Caterpillar
applications.
Typical problems include, but are not limited to: identifying new potential customers for marketing opportunities, determining machine application profiles to understand operator’s behaviors, conducting different site-level simulations for productivity improvement, exploring emerging analytics technology for Caterpillar applications, automating or optimizing business or product development process, etc. This position will have the expectation to work part-time during the school year with the possibility of working full-time during the summer at the Champaign Simulation Center located in Champaign, IL

Basic Qualifications
- Must be pursuing a Bachelor, Masters or PhD degree in Engineering, Computer Sciences or equivalent technical fields
- Must be currently enrolled as a student at the University of Illinois - Urbana/Champaign
- Applicants must have a minimum cumulative Grade Point Average of 3.0/4.0 (no rounding)
- Demonstrated experience in software development
- 1 to 2 years or significant project experience with Python.
