Waterborne Environmental, Inc. is a progressive company of bright, motivated scientists and engineers looking for valuable additions to our team. We are currently seeking qualified applicants in Champaign, IL. We provide a comprehensive suite of services in advanced modeling, statistics, automation, field studies, software development, spatial technologies, and study management. In addition to applying statistics, this position is part of a team which provides a wide variety of support activities with respect to data collection, processing and analysis, as well as, technical leadership to others involved in data analysis within Waterborne.
Agricultural / Biological Systems / Environmental Engineer – Full time position - Champaign, IL
• M.S. plus a minimum of 5 years industry or consulting experience or a Ph.D. preferred from an engineering curriculum in Agricultural, Biosystems, Environmental, Civil Engineering or related field. Additional experience would be considered a plus.
• Experience in project or team management necessary.
• Demonstrate, through job or classroom experience, an ability to independently synthesize complex data into information for presentation.
• Aptitude and demonstrated ability to apply a modern programming language to workflow challenges.
• Proficient with GIS, relational databases, and statistical software (PYTHON or R required, MATLAB, SQL or Visual Basic a plus).
• Exposure or preferably experience with pesticide modeling related to agriculture or water resources.
• Exposure to discipline specific software (USLE concepts, PRZM, SCS Curve number based models,
Hydrus, SWAT, etc.) Exact models not important but exposure to concepts and data handling is
critical.
• Exposure or interests in practical field experimentation and data collecting, mechanically inclined, and comfortable with basic electrical engineering theory.
• Exposure to US agriculture with an understanding of general agricultural processes, crops, markets, and soil/water concerns particularly as they relate to modified hydrologic processes like tile rainage.
