Position Summary:

Abbott Nutrition is seeking a University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (UIUC) student to develop a new communications strategy to communicate and market Strategic R&D’s accomplishments and capabilities across Abbott Nutrition.

A Communications Intern will be responsible for:

·         Developing and improving templates for internal communications such as monthly highlights and quarterly newsletter

·         Writing content for communication channels, internal monthly highlights, and articles to communicate scientific accomplishments in SR&D

·         Interviewing employees for news articles for newsletter or website content

·         Organizing internal SR&D scientific presentations

Qualifications:

·         Must be a current UIUC student

·         Enrolled in communications, media, or related field

·         Graphic or industrial design experience a plus

·         Background in science or health care field preferred but not required

·         Excellent verbal/written English language skills

·         Independent, self-motivated, reliable, and able to meet deadlines

·         Responds well to feedback

·         Well organized and attentive to detail

What We Offer to Our Student Employees:

·         Part-time, paid position at the UIUC Research Park Abbott office

Campaign Manager

As part of the Turn Marketing Sciences Services team the Campaign Manager will be responsible for executing, monitoring, and optimizing advertising campaigns using the Turn platform.

Top performing Campaign Managers ensure that client campaigns are designed for success, deliver on time, and hit ROI goals. Campaign Managers combine analysis and client feedback to tune campaigns for success, and guide clients in applying best practices to multi-channel advertising campaigns. The Campaign Manager will become a subject matter expert on the Turn platform, educate clients on platform usage, and assist in cross-functional internal projects to improve Turn’s offerings. Responsibilities:

  • Management of clients’ digital campaigns and relationship with Turn

  • Lead account business reviews and goal setting sessions

 

Required Skills:

About the Position

We are hiring software engineering interns to work with our Application Engineering team to maintain and improve the campaign management and data management applications used by our clients. This includes building new features through the entire web applications stack (Persistent storage to UI), using the latest front-end technologies, improving user-application interaction, scaling the storage layer, and keeping the existing systems running and responsive. Some technologies used include: Javascript, AngularJS, Java, Spring, Hibernate, relational and NoSQL databases, and Docker.

Interns work closely with the Engineering Team, Product Management, and the User Experience Team to help design our products. We practice agile methodologies with a focus on creating an exceptional customer experience.

We are mostly full stack developers with exposure to everything – back-end, front-end, and everything in between. Some projects may involve more front-end development using cutting-edge JavaScript frameworks; others also involve in touching the backend infrastructure APIs that interact with our data stores. In either case, the collaborative nature of the team allows you to constantly learn new things and work closely with some of the best and brightest software engineers.

We are looking for talented Software Development Engineers for our Quality Assurance (QA) Automation Team.  The Automation Team is creating a test automation ecosystem which uses some of the latest technologies and tools to implement a test framework for Riverbed. The Steelhead product development teams use our test automation framework to validate and verify their innovative features.  Your automation code and designs will enable Riverbed to meet our high quality standards, efficient and agile development goals and release deadlines.

We believe that delivering a quality product requires an investment in good software tools and automation, adds to the challenge of QA engineering, and we want to hire people who share this belief.

 

Responsibilities:

·         You should be able to compose your software designs using idiomatic python and implement them allowing for most versions of python.

·         You should be able to demonstrate your experience is using good design patterns to solve complex problems resulting in test framework python libraries that are highly usable and extensible.

·         You should feel comfortable in daily use of current development environment tools and common python test tools such as git, py.test, jenkins and pypi.

·         You should be able to demonstrate personal experience with common test deliverable requests from development teams, and how to achieve these through Test Automation. ie. Automated test design requirements, test configuration control and test reporting solutions.

·         You should have excellent troubleshooting and communication skills, as you will be required to work with a wide range of customers.  You will interact with Steelhead development teams to understand their requirements for test automation and then be able to instruct and guide them in the design of their tests using the automation framework.

·         You will also need to be able to leverage good interpersonal communications and written documentation skills for generating guidelines, examples and tutorials to help train groups on the test framework.  

          ·         You should be comfortable with both linux and Windows       systems, with particular emphasis on methods for how to        automate tasks on each type of system. ie. using ssh access,    powershell access, scripting.

·         You should be familiar with typical approaches to Test Automation with different user interfaces system and the pros and cons for each method. Eg. CLI, REST and GUI.

·         You should be familiar with Scrum principals and workflow for delivering your work items and look forward to working as a developer on a motivated Scrum team that values; team empowerment, iterative delivery of working software, close customer collaboration and adaptability to change.

 

Bonus:

·         You should have a working understanding of network infrastructure components and networking protocols.

·         You should be familiar with virtualization technologies and comfortable with the setup and configuration of virtual systems.  An understanding of working with KVM VMs with virsh / virtmanager would be helpful.

·         Familiar with open source / free tools for resource configuration, eg. salt, chef, puppet or ansible.

·         Familiar with open source / free tools for Windows automation, eg. autoit, Silk, Sikuli or Powershell DSC.

·         Familiar with browser automation tools like Selenium.

·         Familiar with low level network logging tools, eg. wireshark, tcpdump.

·         Familiar with the TestRail test management solution from Gurock.
