Clients may include Growers, Retailers, Grain Handlers, Financial, Farmers, Crop Consultants, International orporations, and Insurance Companies.
 
Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Maintaining ongoing relationships with assigned clients, assisting them in the use of our products, and acting as a liaison between the client and Agrible,
• Strong technical background essential for credibility, customer presentations, and demonstrations to key decision makers,
• Strong written, electronic, and verbal skills to communicate customer requirements to the Agrible team,
• Team player ready to work independently and collectively utilizing their outstanding communication skills,
• Must develop and maintain a strong understanding of Agrible products,
• Provide ongoing support to new and existing customers by answering questions and making
recommendations,
• Attendance at Trade Shows, Agrible, and/or other customer events.
 
Required candidate qualifications include:
• Experience and knowledge of agriculture and production practices in the Midwest and beyond.
• Experience and knowledge of concepts and software related to environmental impact of land use and production decision tools for agriculture, including spatial technologies,
• Technical education related to agriculture and/or engineering, including but not limited to agricultural and biological engineering, agronomy, systems management, soils, and ag or atmospheric sciences,
• Ability to work independently as a client advocate while retaining a team attitude with colleagues working to improve the Agrible experience for all stakeholders,
• Demonstrated technical skills, having previously held positions of increasing responsibility,
• Excellent communication and presentation skills displaying confidence without arrogance and an ability to truly listen to what others are saying,
• Ability to travel and must have a valid drivers license.
 
The ideal candidate will possess excellent customer service skills, effective interpersonal skills, exceptional verbal and written communication skills, and have excellent negotiating and conflict resolution skills. You must have the ability to communicate effectively with internal staff and external customer base; be well organized and structured in a deadline driven environment; have experience troubleshooting a wide variety of technical topics that may be related
to user error; and the ability to communicate technical topics in an easy to understand manner.

Common Ground Research Networks is looking for a Publishing Intern. Located at the University of Illinois Research Park, we are an academic publishing company founded in 1984 and are committed to principles of access, participation, and equality. We hold 22 annual international and domestic conferences and publish 77 journal titles. Our traditional areas of strength include education, interdisciplinary humanities and social sciences, arts and design, and science in social context. We are at the cutting edge of the investigations of the critical questions of our time. Our areas of innovation include new media, food and urban studies, aging, sustainability, and climate change.

 

Our 10–20 hour a week, semester-long internship gives students an opportunity to learn more about the publishing world. Interns would interact with each step of the publishing process from the author’s initial submission to typesetting to publication. Our internship is education-based with new lessons each week, allowing interns to apply what they’ve learned to a real world publication process.

 

The position is eligible for course credit at the University of Illinois. However, approval to enroll in a course to obtain credit is at the sole discretion of the course instructor(s) at the university.


 

Requirements

·       The person in this position frequently communicates with staff and possibly with other academics and other publishing professionals who might have questions regarding submitting work or submitted work.

·       Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time.

·       The person in this position needs to move about occasionally inside and outside the office to access file cabinets or other office-related supplies.

The Graphic Designer Intern will use a budding eye for design to assist in the growth and development of Phi Optics’ website and marketing materials. This is an opportunity to gain valuable experience developing new and interesting designs from concept to production-ready files, helping Phi Optics to increase its reach and branding image and social presence. Projects will include catalogs, trade shows, and web design. The ideal applicant will possess working knowledge of Photoshop, Illustrator, web development and the digital media landscape.

• Create designs, concepts, and sample layouts, based on knowledge of layout principles and esthetic design concepts
• Develop graphics, images, and layouts for product illustrations, web sites, trade shows, and catalogs
• Identify trends and suggest ideas for how Phi Optics can grow its footprint and increase branding presence in life sciences space
 
Qualifications and Skills
• Relevant knowledge of graphic design, including previous experience, coursework and projects
