The AbbVie Innovation Center is located in the Research Park at the University of Illinois and provides an opportunity for students and AbbVie’s Research and Development IT group to collaborate on projects to help advance our science.
Position Description:
The Part-Time Student Program at the AbbVie Innovation Center, located in the Research Park, is designed to augment AbbVie’s regular staff, and is for students who are able to work in parallel to their school schedule.
Core duties include:
• Responsible for creating training videos and presentations to explain the AbbVie IT SDLC in a manner that is easily understood by its audience.
• Create presentations and short (easy-to-follow) training videos (4 – 8 minutes in length).
• Collaborate closely with internal clients and stakeholders to help facilitate the creation of multimedia content
• Plan video shoots; scout, select and reserve shoot locations
• Develop production schedules and help manage video library
• Strong storytelling experience and attention to detail and exceptionally well organized
• Record and edit video and sound projects, including but not limited to: selecting program format for final output, capturing/importing media, organizing raw media, editing footage and sound files
Note: The goal of the effort is to showcase the processes in a captivating, creative, and effective manner.
Qualifications:
• Must be registered as a full-time student
• Must be able to commute to the work location on a daily basis
• Undergraduate and Graduate students
• Cumulative minimum GPA of 3.0/4.0, or equivalent
• Must be authorized to work in the US on a permanent basis without requiring sponsorship
• 10 - 15 hours/week during the academic year
• 35 - 40 hours/week during the summer semester
• Creative problem solver with ability to understand larger picture but who will focus on details
• Passion for design and great user experiences
• Familiarity with user research and usability testing methodologies to prioritize user needs to drive design priorities
• Ability to design and deliver clean and usable user interface prototypes for desktop
Preferred Skills:
• Willingness to learn policies and Processes
• Familiarity with hosting videos in Sharepoint
Note: The position will be hired through a third-party hiring agency and will begin as soon as possible over the spring semester 2017 with an option to continue through the summer and 2017-2018 academic year.
