What You’ll Do
The Part-Time Student Program is primarily designed to augment the Company's regular full-time staff, and is for students who work in parallel to their school schedule. In this position you will:
•Employ the use of big data mining techniques such as pattern detection, graph analysis or statistical analyses from a variety of disparate sources and discover hidden insights
•Define collection processes and create infrastructure and framework to support analyses
•Machine learning algorithms for pattern detection
Qualifications
What It Takes
We need excellent communicators, who thrive on solving problems and working in a team environment. Ideally, you will be pursuing a degree in Statistics, Information Systems or Computer Science; others may qualify. In addition, we require:
•Must be registered as a full-time student at University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign
•Must be able to commute to the work location on a daily basis
•Graduation date of May 2017 or later
•Cumulative GPA of 2.8 or above
•16 - 20 hours/week during the academic year
•35 - 40 hours/week during the summer semester
•Experience in data mining & machine learning algorithms
A strong candidate will also have:
•Experience with a minimum of one programing language
•Ability to use parallel computation languages to implement applications in the heterogeneous compute environment
