The Dow AgroSciences R&D Computational Biology Group seeks a student to work part-time our office at University of Illinois Research Park. This position will provide the student with an opportunity to apply their statistics and programming skills to the exciting area of bioinformatics and proteomics. Prior experience in bioinformatics or proteomics is not required. Responsibilities include developing statistics pipelines for computational proteomics and analyzing large-scale datasets from mass spectrometry-based proteomics.
The ideal candidate for this position will be pursuing a MS or PhD in Statistics, Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Biology, Computer Science or a closely related field. In addition:
· Strong programming skills in statistical software (e.g. R) and Python are required
· Excellent written and oral communication skills are desirable
