Job ID – 15170 – Innovation Intern – Data Analytics

Location: Research Park at University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign

Must be registered as a full-time student at University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign to be considered for this opportunity.

At Ameren’s Innovation Center, you will work in a fast paced, dynamic environment that fosters innovation and collaboration. The Innovation Intern position leads/assists challenging projects, or conducts research in areas of advanced technology that contributes toward the Company’s strategic investment in forward-thinking initiatives. Interns gain valuable work experience in various aspects of technology research & development within a large energy company.

Projects may include: 

·        Organizing and analyzing data to support various company segments

·        Developing algorithms and writing code to perform data analytics

·        Experimenting with different software packages and visualization tools

·        Providing technical assistance to data projects within Company segments

·        Creating and delivering reports and presentations of project work and results

·        Mentoring team members and provide guidance on the above-referenced items 

Qualifications

Education:

·        Registered as a full-time student at University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign

·        Student must be able to work at least 10 hours per week

·        Will consider undergrads and graduate students in MBA, engineering, statistics, other related major based on experience and background

·        Completion of 40 college credit hours toward a Bachelor of Science degree required.

·        A cumulative GPA of 2.8 required

Experience: 

·        Proficient in data analytics and mathematics/statistics

·        Experience with organizing and analyzing large quantities of data

·        Technical writing/Documentation

·        Knowledge of Python preferred

·        Experience with data analytics software and visualization tools preferred
