Mobile Software Developer Intern

COUNTRY Financial is seeking Mobile Software Developer interns to be part of the team delivering technical web and mobile application solutions in our Digital Strategy program. These positions will be located in our DigitaLab at the University of Illinois Research Park in Champaign, IL. As a DigitaLab intern, you will be working with business partners, designers and IT to develop and test rich user interfaces across all digital devices for our COUNTRY Financial customers, representatives, and employees.
Responsibilities:

• Developing mobile applications (iOS and Android) along with web solutions that are high performing and meet technical standards


• Creating solid technical solutions by selecting the appropriate technology, leveraging our defined technology standards and knowledge of multiple programming tools and techniques


• Designing solutions after gathering business and technical requirements


• Supporting the development of test cases, execution and related problem solving during all phases of project testing in alignment with overall test plans

Requirements:

• Strong collaboration and communication skills


• Must be actively pursuing a college degree for the duration of the internship


• Must be able to work part-time during the school year (typically 10-15 hours per week)


• Experience working with some of the following:
  
  
  
  • Cordova, Angular, PhoneGap, Ionic, Node, React
  
  
  • Java, JavaScript, JSON, Rest, CSS, HTML5, XML
  
  
  • Spring / SpringBoot
  
  
  • Eclipse / Spring Tool Suite
  
  
  • Maven, Gradle


• A working knowledge of the following is preferred:
  
  
  
  • Cloud-Native Architectures and micro-services
  
  
  • Cloud Platforms (PaaS) - Cloud Foundry
  
  
  • Version Control tooling (Git, SVN)
  
  
  • Agile development process
  
  
  • Infrastructure & middleware technologies utilized in providing application services
  
  
  • Deployment methodologies and tooling, including DevOps for CI/CD
  
  
  • Multiple database architectures, structured and unstructured
