Title: Mobile Test Engineer - 35031
Your Responsibilities
As a Mobile Test Engineer, working at John Deere’s Innovation Center in Champaign, IL, you will have a front row seat to the digital farming revolution. You will work on projects with complex software challenges that help deliver a “connected experience” for John Deere’s customers. We are looking for individuals who enjoy tackling tough problems in a creative way. If you’re passionate about making our farmers more productive through mobile technologies, we’d like to talk with you! In this role you will:
- Manually test mobile apps such as “Connect Mobile”.
- Understand how customers use the products that are being supported.
- Create and maintain automated system tests.
- Participate in the defect management process to ensure defects are filed and prioritized.
- Provide support to the test lead in creating and maintaining test plans.
- Have passion for our customers and ensure quality in our applications.

What Skills You Need
- Experience in roles (educational or job related) that required demonstration of strong analytical and problem solving skills.
- Demonstrated effective writing skills.
- Software coding experience in at least one modern language (C/C++, Java, Ruby, Python, Swift, Objective C).
What Makes You Stand Out
Other areas of experience or interest that will help us place you on the right team include:
- Experience creating manual and automated test cases for complex systems.
- Proficient in Ruby or Swift.
- Demonstrated working knowledge of standard quality tools (such as: FMEA (Failure Modes Effects Analysis), Root Cause Analysis, and Statistics)
- Demonstrated familiarity and/or working knowledge of John Deere or competitor products, customers and markets.
Education
Ideally, you will have a degree or equivalent work experience in the following:
- Bachelors of Arts/Science in an Engineering/Technology, Information Technology, Agricultural Technology or other relevant discipline with relevant work experience.
