We are looking for someone like you to serve as our Digital Technology Lead to serve as a key member of Syngenta’s Digital Development and Labs team. In this role, you will be responsible for leading a team of junior developers and external suppliers while creating and developing innovative tools and interfaces to support the organization globally.
This is definitely the position for you if you excel in a fast-paced environment. You will be the lead developer and hold responsibility for multiple development systems and standards while working with peers across our labs in various geographical locations. You will drive the formation of functional environments and ensure quality control and timely delivery. Mentoring and collaborating with younger developers, analysts, and interns will be at the core of these duties to foster an innovative culture. In other words, we’re looking for someone who gets things done but is also down to get schooled in a game of ping pong.
The position holder will work with crop protection and seeds delivery organization in order to directly shape how Syngenta feeds the world, as well as Syngenta Digital to address all digital product demands on a global and regional basis and promote the overall digital strategy. In addition, this role will involve managing technology stacks for their zone and collaborate globally to maintain consistency and innovation over time.
In case this wasn’t enough to pique your interest, the Lead will be responsible for the improvement of our current systems and providing knowledge on efficient development practices. They will have proficiency in Full Stack development (HTML/CSS/JavaScript/React/Python), experience with Serverless Technologies, Containers (Docker/Vagrant), Ansible, Automated Deployment Tools, Testing Tools, GitHub, and AWS/Azure. ALL of that? Yep. We’re not messing around. Our lab teams deliver POCs, MVPs, Experiments, technology evaluations, and underpin design-thinking practice. In this role, you will support all of these processes with your expertise and overall finesse.

Accountabilities
- Take lead developer role on high profile projects.
- Work closely with labs leadership and global counterparts to develop strong, agile and scalable technical infrastructure across Digital Development and Labs teams.
- Delivery & support of the digital products required by Syngenta Digital
- Management and inspirational leadership of junior developers
- Accountability for Technical stack of each product
- Set local and global standards for Technology stacks. Includes AWS / Azure management, DevOps, Testing, Coding Standards
- Support the build of Syngenta Digital development capability by the implementation of the regional Labs, recruitment of resources and applying the digital ways of working
- Participate in the recruitment and evolution of a software development capability to meet Syngenta’s needs for greater control and lower cost of delivery
- Forensic management of 3rd Party software suppliers
Experience / Previous jobs required for the job
- Career experience as lead developer working with leadership level business members and teams
- Career experience in envisioning and leading high impact change projects
- Demonstrated ability to lead and energize junior developers and analyst partners
- Explicit and extensive agile delivery experience
- Experience in Full Stack Development, familiarity with mobile development.
