The AbbVie Innovation Center is located in the Research Park at the University of Illinois and provides an opportunity for students and AbbVie’s Research and Development IT group to collaborate on projects to help advance our science.

Position Description:
The Part-Time Student Program at the AbbVie Innovation Center, located in the Research Park, is designed to augment AbbVie’s regular staff, and is for students who are able to work in parallel to their school schedule. The Market Research Team works on a variety of market research proposals, analyses, and projects executed at the AbbVie Innovation Center located in the Research Park at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. The Market Research Team is a team of 3-5 university students at the AbbVie Innovation Center that provide Phase 0 and market research services to Information Research (IR) teams located in Lake County, Illinois.

Qualifications:
• Must be registered as a full-time student
• Must be able to commute to the work location on a daily basis
• Undergraduate and Graduate students
• Cumulative minimum GPA of 3.0/4.0, or equivalent
• Must be authorized to work in the US on a permanent basis without requiring sponsorship
• 10 - 15 hours/week during the academic year
• 35 - 40 hours/week during the summer semester
• Understand current business needs and research pertinent market trends and solutions.
• Analyze market trends, evaluate best practices, and provide thought leadership
• Present recommendations to clients regarding market research findings
• Responsible for compliance with applicable AbbVie and IR policies and procedures

Preferred Skills:
• Pursuing a degree in engineering, life sciences, and/or business
• Consulting experience strongly preferred
• Excellent verbal and written communication
• High proficiency with Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio)
• Self-starter, ability to work well within a team and take initiative

Note: The position will be hired through a third-party hiring agency and will begin as soon as possible over the fall semester 2018 with an option to continue through the spring/summer and 2018-2019 academic year.
