We are seeking a highly motivated Research Associate to join our R&D team. An exciting opportunity for a talented individual with strong background in biomedical science/bioengineering; who will play a pivotal role within the organization helping in the development of biosensors.
- Preparing solutions for chemical and biological experiments;
- Supporting the team in all design experiments;
- Ability to plan, execute and analyze experiments independently involving a variety of factors including: writing code (C++, Matlab, Python, etc.) and material design;
- Ability to work under deadlines with minimal guidance is essential;
- Documenting and maintaining up to date laboratory notebooks, with records of all experiments and their outcomes;
- Providing feedback on success of current development and suggesting improvements, where relevant;
- Contributing to development progress and overcoming technical problems in discussions with the core development team;
- Contributing to the efficient functioning of the company’s facility, including the maintenance of laboratory equipment;
- Information-gathering and preparing documents to support technical development;
- Adhering to all safety regulations and protocols in the laboratory and office;
- Any other tasks requested by the team that are commensurate with employee’s role;
- Enthusiasm, determination, initiative, ability to think critically and to trouble-shoot experiments, good communication and organizational skills are required;
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Biomedical Engineering, Bioengineering, Biochemistry, Chemistry Engineering, or related discipline is ideal, however other engineering disciplines as well as biologists will be considered depending on prior experience;
- Special consideration will be given to an M.S. level candidate to be hired at a higher level;
- Good grade in biosciences degree and a minimum of 2 years lab experience with strong track record in biochemistry and molecular biology;
- A Master’s Degree in Biomedical Engineering, Bioengineering, Biochemistry, Chemistry Engineering, or related discipline;
- Immunoassay experience;
- Experience handling human samples;
- Experience in running diagnostic assays;
- Experience of working in a clinical laboratory;
