ADM Business Information Science Position
ADM is looking for interns to find and collect market research data and assist in building dashboards to help the company understand viable business opportunities. Candidates must be able to work independently, take initiative, be self-disciplined, organized, and navigate ambiguity. Market research and business development will be for renewable chemicals. The renewable chemicals market is relatively niche with less number of players globally. In the future, with the increase in demand for these chemicals, the trend is estimated to move toward full-scale commercialization from pilot scale projects. More growth opportunities will turn up between 2018 and 2025 as compared to the past five years, suggesting the rapid pace of change. The position requires the ability to execute projects with limited direction, be self-disciplined, organized, and deliver in a fast paced environment. Candidate is expected to work at the ADM Research Park office but will need to travel to Decatur, IL for periodic reviews and meetings with a broader team. The work will involve collaboration with other students working in the project. The position will end at the end of spring 2019 and selected candidate is expected to work a minimum 10 per week.
Job Description
- Conduct market research both qualitative and quantitative to help understand the industry trends and identity profitable business opportunities
- Create/Maintain a database to compile, synthesize and analyse data collected from multiple sources
- Assist team members with data entry and information gathering
- Assist team members to build analytical dashboards and PowerPoint presentations
Qualifications
- Student in Information Science Master Programs
- Basic understanding of data visualization tools
- Database knowledge is a plus
- Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
- Market research experience in academia or industry is a plus
