Software Engineer - Caterpillar Innovation Center Part Time Student

Primary Location: United States (US) - Illinois (US-IL) - Champaign
Title: Software Engineer

Your Responsibilities

As a Caterpillar Innovation Center Part Time Student, this candidate will work with senior engineers to develop various engineering applications which involve user interface design, 3D visualization in Teamcenter VisView application, function development, database operation, and web-based development work. He/she has to fully understand the business problem and build a robust application to meet Caterpillar user’s needs.

What It Takes

• Technical ability to develop software code in Python, Java or C/C++
• Technical ability to manage software configurations in GitLab
• Existing experience in any CAD or 3D visualization software development are plus.
• Must be registered as a full-time student at a local university
• Pursuing a BS or MS in engineering major
• Must be able to commute to the work location on a daily basis
• Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above
• 10 - 20 hours/week during the academic year
• 35 - 40 hours/week during the summer semester
