MECHANICAL ENGINEERING INTERNSHIP
 
i-JET is seeking a part-time paid intern (up to 20 hours) to join our Research Park Team facilitated through a partnership with Tekmill, a design engineering and fabrication firm. The internship will begin in the Spring and will continue into the Summer with potential for extension. During the Summer you will become a full-time intern (June to end of August up to 40 hours).
 
As a Mechanical Engineering Intern, you will work collaboratively and independently with highly qualified engineering professionals who are responsible for the design and development of components and assemblies used within the marine group as well as our fitness division. You will become an integral member of an engineering team committed to delivering superior results. You'll learn how to work within the engineering team as you own and manage assigned projects from inception to completion.

As the Mechanical Engineering Intern, you will:

  • Research Emerging Technologies in Connected/Wireless Products as well as Autonomous Vehicles sensor systems
  • Be introduced to Advanced Software Platforms on Linux
  • Design Hardware Prototypes for Proof of Concept Assemblies
  • Work with Design Analysis teams to run linear and non-linear types of structural analysis as well as CFD
  • Support benchmarking activities of competitive products
  • Investigate new technologies in the marine and fitness industries

Qualifications of a successful candidate:

  • Current enrollment in a MS program in Mechanical Engineering or related field
  • Minimum second semester sophomore status with 48 completed credits
  • Sociable, dependable, self-motivated and engaged learner
  • Understanding of Software Development is a plus
