The Engineering Operations Tools Team
The tools team at Riverbed is an elite team of developers who work with other operational teams to meet the needs of the Engineering organization with a high standard of repeatability, reliability and robustness. Our objective is to streamline engineering’s operational practices and drive continuous improvements in quality, reliability and efficiency. You’ll be working with collaborative, motivated, professional engineers who are intent on getting the right result, utilizing cutting-edge methodologies to create new tools and enhance existing ones in order to improve developer productivity.
You should be:
· Comfortable using Python
· Experienced with git
· Able to work with a team to implement projects from concept to completion
· Willing to learn new technologies and skills as necessary
· Able to handle context-switching between multiple in-flight projects as required
· Familiar with linux system administration tools and debugging
· Ready to help us replace our legacy tooling with a more modern infrastructure
· Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or equivalent
It would be nice if you have:
· Experience with system monitoring and configuration utilities (Saltstack, Puppet, etc)
· Programmed in other common scripting languages (ruby, perl, node, bash)
· Knowledge of best practices for creating and consuming RESTful APIs
· Worked in an agile / Scrum environment
· Used Jenkins or other continuous integration tools in a production environment
· Familiarity with AWS offerings
