Software Developer
The Dow Innovation Center has an exciting and challenging opportunity for students at Research Park.
The Dow Innovation Center provides information technology and information management-based solutions to drive value and accelerate discovery in the R&D organizations throughout Dow.
This position is aligned to the Systems Development Expertise Center. Areas of focus will include all facets of software development in Research Informatics through the use of new and existing technologies. As a software developer in Dow Research and Development, you will develop next- generation applications that enable research at Dow Chemical. Software developers dive deep into code and work as part of a team of programming experts who solve problems and build powerful new tools for researchers and R&D decision makers. You will collaborate with software architects and chemical researchers to develop software and database systems.
Seeking candidates with the following:
· U.S. Citizen or permanent resident
· Pursuing B.S. in CS, CE, EE, IT or chemical engineering preferred
· Excellent programming skills. Experience with object oriented programming languages, preferably C#
· Familiarity with data structures and algorithms as well as feature definition, design and feasibility
· Familiarity with web technologies, HTML, JavaScript
· Familiarity of databases
· Ability to translate technical specifications into working code, and solve complex problems with consideration of the end user experience
· Excellent communication skills
· Must be a team player - will work across geographic boundaries with project leadership, other Subject Matter Experts, Support Network, and client base
A minimum cumulative GPA of 3.000/4.000 is required. (>= 2.7 acceptable)
