Position Summary: We are seeking a University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (UIUC) student to analyze data sets and design and evaluate an automated analysis algorithm using machine learning. The student will develop a signal processing algorithm to automate analysis of pressure monitoring systems on diagnostic instruments and identify events that will affect instrument performance. This algorithm will improve product reliability and efficiency and also streamline service.

The Student Will Be Responsible For:

  • Analyzing time-series data

  • Developing a signal processing algorithm

  • Evaluating performance of algorithm

Qualifications: 

  • Must be enrolled as a student at UIUC

  • Pursuing a MS, or PhD degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field

  • Experience with Signal Processing preferred

  • Experience with Machine Learning

  • Able to work independently as well as collaborate effectively in a team environment

  • Self-motivated problem solver that can lead a project from beginning to end

  • Excellent verbal/written English language skills

Position Start Date: Late May/early June to December 2016
