Position Summary: We are seeking a University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (UIUC) student to design and develop a portal for our Research Park team using Microsoft SharePoint. The portal will serve as a critical tool for our team’s daily business operations, as well as the primary vehicle for internal marketing/communication. The student’s primary objective will be to design a user interface that offers a compelling experience to all stakeholders.
The Student Will Be Responsible For:
Partnering with and advising Site Manager on design, development, and implementation
Communicating with domestic and global team members and integrating their ideas
Documenting changes and creating user guides and tutorials
Establishing a method(s) for monitoring and reporting analytics

Minimum of 8-10 hr/week and maximum of 19 hr per week

Qualifications:
Must be enrolled as a student at UIUC
Pursuing a BS, MS, or PhD degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related field
Proven track record with developing user-friendly web UIs
Experience with Microsoft SharePoint preferred but not required
Experience with front-end development languages like JavaScript and HTML preferred
Able to work independently as well as collaborate effectively in a team environment
Self-motivated problem solver that can lead a project from beginning to end
Excellent verbal/written English language skills
Start Date: Late May/early June to August 2016; potential to continue part-time through Fall 2016
