The Dow AgroSciences R&D Statistics and Mathematics Group seeks a student to work part-time in our office at the University of Illinois Research Park. This position will provide the student with an opportunity to apply their statistical design and analysis skills to diverse practical problems. Responsibilities may include identifying appropriate statistical methods, designing experiments, analyzing results, and method implementation/automation through software development
Applicants should be familiar with linear mixed models, non-linear regression, simulations, and power and sample size calculations. Consulting experience, demonstrated crop science interest, and the ability to rapidly learn and implement unfamiliar methods will be valued highly.
The ideal candidate for this position will be pursuing a MS in Statistics or a closely-related field. Applicants should be productive in the statistical software R and be able to write non-trivial scripts to automate calculations. Strong written and oral communication skills are required.
