What You’ll DoThe Part-Time Student Program is primarily designed to augment the Company's regular full-time staff, and is for students who work in parallel to their school schedule. Major duties include:
- Working at John Deere's Technology Innovation Center (JDTIC) at the University of Illinois research park to support John Deere's Knowledge and Content Management initiatives
- Working directly with Enterprise Content Management Services' Leadership team at Corporate
- Providing work direction to entry-level resources
- Providing oversight of all members of the U of I Enterprise Knowledge and Content Management Services team
- Leading various project teams within Enterprise Knowledge and Content Management Services to build business solutions
- Providing Corporate business consulting for knowledge and content management applications such as SharePoint, Enterprise Search and Media Asset Solutions
- Analyzing data and information to build/improve business processes
Qualifications
What It TakesWe need excellent communicators, who thrive on solving problems and working in a team environment. Ideally you will be pursuing a degree in Information Science, Technology Management, or an MBA with a Computer Science or IT-related undergraduate degree; others may qualify. In addition we require:
- Must be registered as a full-time student at UIUC
- Must be able to commute to the work location on a daily basis
- Grad date – May 2015 or later
- Cumulative GPA of 2.8 and above
- 15 - 20 hours/week during the academic year
- 35 - 40 hours/week during the summer semester
- Knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word
- Ability to analyze, translate and define business requirements into technical solutions
A strong candidate will also have:
- Prior experience with Content Management tools, such as SharePoint, Enterprise Search, Digital/Media Asset Management
- Prior experience with web design and user experience methodologies
- Prior internship or other relevant work experience
